Masters of Time: Dark Seduction by Brenda Joyce

I found Dark Seduction very enjoyable, fast paced and sexy.

The entire premise that the Masters of time have an insatiable appetite for pleasure is quite intriguing...They feed on the ecstacy itself. The Masters are a disciplined and secret brotherhood that exists to ensure the safety of innocents and protection of humanity.

Malcolm Maclean of Dunroch, a newly chosen Master, at the young age of 26 is a mere novice to his extrodinary powers. He has faced tradegy and the underlying evil nature of his gift when events result in the death of an innocent maid. Malcolm is sent to the future to find a page of an ancient tome and finds himself charged with the protection of another innocent, Claire Camden.

Claire Canden is the owner of a small bookstore, single and alone, she lives on the second floor above her shop. What started as the same old, same old night, turned into one she would never forget. Sensors sounded and a pounding rang through the downstairs shop. Someone was at the entrance of her bookstore at this hour? Claire padded down the stairs to the shop's door to inspect this midnight caller...reagardless of 2 deadbolts and a solid framed wood door, the door exploded from it's hinges and burst forward into the entrance...

You know that I refuse to tell you all more about this story and as always love to tease and entice you into following this journey on your own.

This novel is well written, but most importantly well thought out. You aren't confused or mixed up so you forget what time you are in? Past or present. The characters have depth and are intriguing leaving you wanting to know more...

I will definately be continuing onto book #2 in this series Dark Rival

Interview with Alexis Morgan

Attention Followers!
I may have the opportunity to interview Alexis Morgan this weekend while in Seattle, WA.
Please tell me what YOU the readers, want to know about her or the new book out yesterday,
Defeat the Darkness?

Just leave me a comment and I will try to get your questions answered.

One Snowy Knight

I'm a big Deborah MacGillivray fan, so it's no surprise that I gave it 5 stars. I love her paranormal aspects set with the historical back-drop; not too many authors can do that and pull it off, but MacGillivray does it well...Nathan Kamp on the cover doesn't hurt either :)
Really, though, this is a beautifully-written story that fits in the same time-line as A Restless Knight and In Her Bed. Another of the Dragon of Challons is awarded a Scottish stronghold...and its woman. Lady Skena, doesn't know this, however when she rescues her knight one snowy night (ha ha bad pun). Noel got lost in a snowstorm when Brishen (his horse) was spooked, and Skena's children found him. Skena, went searching for her young twins during the storm when she came upon a half-frozen Norman knight. She nursed him to health, fell in love, and as soon as we think there's a HEA in sight...her dead husband comes back!
But it's not him, it's his brother intent on stealing back the keep and Skena is just a sweet part of the bargain. Can Noel save her in time? Can he figure out that it's not a ghost, but the brother of a man he killed in battle? Read and see what can happen on one snowy night.
And don't miss the next installment called To Touch the Knight.

What's under that kilt? WEDNESDAY!

Well what can I say!
A real highlander and not some model...
All men should be built this way.

REVIEW: Pleasure of a Dark Prince

Title: Pleasure of a Dark Prince

Author: Kresley Cole
Series: Immortals After Dark
Rating: 5 out of 5

This book is fantastic and my favorite of the series so far. Like all of Kresley's other novels, once you open to the first page it is a battle of wills to put it down until the end.
Our story begins with a look back in Lucia's secret past, a glimpse of how she came to be.
Lucia the Huntress, THE ARCHER, strong willed, true and determined. Her life has had only one purpose and meaning for these many centuries, until now.

Lucia has been sent on a mission by Nix, her sister and fellow Valkyrie, to put to death 2 of the race called the Kobold. The crime they are charged with is the taking of human children, unchecked this would jeopardize all of the Lorekind. She tracked one of them to an unlikely place, a battle? no a rugby game?, yes... between demons and the Lykae.
What Lucia saw on that field transfixed her, brought her breaths coming in hard, heart pounding...a man, oh no man could look as he does. This was a Lykae, a towering bulk of a being. He radiated strength and confidence, shirtless and rittleds with dirt and sweat he wore only low slung jeans barely hanging onto his sleek, corded stomach...(ok, you get the idea!)

HE is Garreth MacRieve, 2nd to the Lykae throne. Brother to Lachlain MacRieve, king of the Lykae, at least he believed that Lachlain was still alive...even after missing for 150 years. Garreth was playing rugby with his kin and the foul lot of demons, they were the only other opponent strong enough to give the Lykae a run for their money. When they weren't taking breaks for a swig of the demon brew.
Wait, he sensed movement and he could smell...her! His mate, after all this time here when he was dirty, foul smelling and donned whiskey upon his breath...for the sake of the Gods!

Okay, I think I've teased all of you enough that you want to run and get this book.
Oh and MacRieve has a sexy Scottish brogue to DIE for!

REVIEW & GIVEAWAY:The Untamed Bride by Stephanie Laurens (ENTER HERE)

Okay, I must admit that this is the first Stephanie Laurens novel that I've ever read... and will NOT be the last.
I am not a big fan of the Historical Romance genre, but this book may have altered that point of view.
The Untamed Bride is set in India 1822. Our leading man, Colonel Derek Delborough, is what makes the pages turn at an alarming rate. Tall, dark and handsome, he is a commanding presence to those around him. One of four officers of the crown, he is now faced with a desperate mission to stop an evil foe, known only as the Black Cobra.

His journey takes him from India back to the shores of his homeland in England.Upon docking in Southhampton he forges on to a nearby Inn to rest and regroup. Upon arriving he has messages and more waiting for him, a woman, and he has been charged in escorting her and her staff North home to Humberside. He could not afford to take the time to complete this task, he was on a mission. This woman would just have to understand.

Miss Delilah DunCannon is not one to mince words and in no way was she going to let the colonel escape the duties of seeing her home. She was a force of nature, and he must see it her way.
Through chance or maybe fate, Delilah will become an important part of this mission as well as his very existence. Sparks fly and tensions rise in the fight against the Black Cobra cultists; In the fight to save thier hearts.

Desire Untamed

Wow, this was a surprisingly good and quick read! I wasn't really expecting much from it, but it was a new take on Shifters, and their power source (the Earth, but through a conduit-her name is Kara). Every time a Radiant One dies, a new one is marked to take her place, but Kara was raised human, and has no clue what the mark on her breast that just appeared is. She is the only one in the whole world who can tap into the power of the Earth for the Therian race. The Feral Warriors (9 total, one representing each Shifter's race) search her out and basically kidnap her. Too bad for them she's wily. She jumps out of the car and takes off.
Once Lyon, the Feral chief, catches her again and convinces her to come with him, the two feel the unmistakable pull of desire. But Kara is then mated to another...Vhyper...but it feels WRONG, Kara knows it and Lyon feels it but is in denial. They fight (or don't fight in Kara's case) the desire, but meanwhile some plot twists take place that have the reader(me) almost dropping the book in shock...Kara is then believed to be Mage (the enemy), and she runs into the woods...ahh but Lyon finds her, and being Mage, she can't be the Radiant one, so the mating was null, therefore they can finally have sex!!! But then confusion and magic and bad guys ensue. The next couple plot twists blindsided me, but in a good way, and I was very pleasantly surprised with this book!

Proof by Seduction by Courtney Milan

There are so few authors who can make me wish that I could hurry and reach the end of their novel so I can find out what happens, and yet at the same time make me wish that the novel would never end, because that would mean I would have to close the book once and for all. Courtney Milan is one such author. Another rarity among authors is the ability to write emotionally complex characters and not sound “clinical” while doing it. Again, Courtney Milan met that challenge head on and came out victorious with Proof by Seduction where two strangers are brought together by their desire to help one man.

Gareth, Lord Blakely and Jenny Keeble, Madame Esmerelda, were in a battle of wills – and wits – that kept the story moving at a fast pace. They were both looking out for Gareth’s cousin, Ned, who at 21 years old was – in their eyes – unable to look out for himself. And while they both wanted what was best for Ned, they had two entirely different ideas about what that was. The scheming, the plotting and the social status maneuverings made this a story in which I found myself constantly wondering what they would come up with next to test, tempt and torment each other...oh, and of course, seduce.

One of the things I really love about this book was how different it is from most romance novels in that, in most romances, whether they are historical, contemporary, paranormal or urban fantasy, there seems to be a set formula in which the heroine is almost always the one to help the hero free himself of a tormented past to become all that he can be. In Proof by Seduction, while Jenny does play this role, it starts out in a somewhat ‘less affectionate’ manner than we usually see. In fact, it’s her brutal honesty and manipulations directed at Gareth, whom she really doesn’t much care for in the beginning, which makes him start to realize what kind of man others see him as – aloof, demanding, uncaring, unfeeling…

It is Gareth’s unexpectedly honest reactions to what he learns about himself that forces Jenny to take a look at her own life – past and present – and make a choice for what she wants her future to hold.

People who follow my reviews probably get tired of hearing this, but I need to bond with the characters. I need to feel what they feel, otherwise the story is just a bunch of words to me. Courtney Milan did an excellent job of developing the characters into real people. She gave them strengths and weaknesses, qualities and flaws and she did something else that authors too often fail to do; she gave them hearts and souls. I booed their failures and cheered their triumphs. I ached for their loneliness and then delighted in their companionship. Indeed, I connected with them.

Gareth, Lord Blakely and Jenny Keeble now hold a spot on my Top 10 List of Heroes and Heroines which makes Proof by Seduction one of my all time favorite books.

What's a Sunday without a reason to repent.
Okay, 2 reasons!

Lucy Monroe's Moon Craving

I really enjoyed this sequel to Moon Awakening. Remember Talorc? Well, his king apparantly thinks that having his betrothed get kidnapped and wed to the rival clan chieftan was poor form, so he sent another to him. It is Emily's half-sister Abigail! The one who she was trying to protect in the first book! But Abigail's mother is an evil woman who tells the king he must send her daughter to the Scottish laird. Abigail's big secret is that she is deaf; a fever stole her hearing when she was 10. But Emily helped her to learn to read lips and no one but their father and Abigail's mother knew about her "affliction."
When Abigail is brought to scotland and meets her soon-to-be-husband, she is immediately intrigued by Talorc, and cannot believe this is the barbarian her sister wrote of. But she can never tell him of her deafness because if her own mother couldn't love her, how could she expect this strong Scottish laird to love her?
Talorc is surprised that when he meets Emily's sister that not only does he like her, his wolf sits up and howls for her. The protective and possessive streak that pops up causes him to disregard his hatred of the English and marry her in their Chrechte custom the next day. The 2 day ride to Sinclair land gives him a chance to like his little bride, and upon reaching his keep, he introduces her as their she is accepted where Emily was not. But he still hasn't told her that he is a wolf, and she hasn't let on that she is deaf. But Talorc finds out and shames her in front of his men, mostly he is just hurt from what he sees as a huge betrayal, and Abigail tries to prove she loves him. Surprisingly though, the clan is impressed with her strength to function so well. Abigail begins to hear his voice in her head and thinks she is going crazy...he never told her they are sacred mates. It is only when Emily comes for a visit that she spills the beans. there is one more small plot twist that is pretty well done, and allows two true matings to occur. And they truly do get their HEA. It was a cute, quick read

New Movie: Season of the Witch
Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.
A priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight (Robert Sheehan) join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl.

I'm trying to find out if this movie originated from a a novel, the trailer is riveting and I'd love to read the book first if it's out there. Either way, I would definately put this movie on your "to see" list.
Movie is scheduled to releasse in March.

Review: COVET by JR WARD

Reviewed by Laurie:
The thing about Covet was that it was hard for me to get into. But man, oh man, once I did, it was AMAZING!! I loved the characters who made the cross-over; Marie-Therese, Trez, Phury, and even Butch had a small cameo at the church.

But I think my review will contain small spoilers only for the sake of summary...I think it was hard for me to get into cuz I had no clue what it was about.

So, Jim is a construction worker. He and his fellow carpenters Adrian and Eddie go to Iron Mask and there is a super hot woman who soo wants Jim. Enter Devina...spoiler alert...a demon!!! but we don't know this for like 200 pages, so stick with it! Jim and Devina well, you know, in his truck, and the next day he sees her with Vin diPietro...the owner of the construction company he works for! So Jim falls off the building and has a near-death experience. He finds out the angels and demons have decided that he is to be the only one in the world who can save it! The demons will win if they can get Jim to fail, but life can continue if Jim saves 7 souls. He comes back to his body and goes about trying to get Vin and Devina together, until he realizes that Vin should be with Marie-Therese...who is another story all-together! She is a prostitute at Iron Mask (and previously at ZeroSum) but she's not really into it...she hates it, but does it for her son. Well, Jim gets the 2 together and saves Vin's soul, but Jim has to die for real in the process...and he is officially an angel who now has Devina the demon after him.
Can't wait to read the next one (Crave).

Review: Darkness Unknown by Alexis Morgan

This is my favorite within the series. Jarvis, our leader in the world of Paladins, finds himself in a precarious position in this book.
He is out in the woods tracking an Other that escaped the tunnels and found his way to the surface and suddenly finds himself surrounded by more then one.

His fellow Paladin was wounded during the fight at the barrier and Jarvis is now alone and is mortally wounded, maybe even left for dead, again...

Gwen Mosley can't figure out why the dogs are acting so strange? She follows them outside of her farmhouse to see what the commotion is. The dogs lead her into the nearby woods and to an injured man. Something about this massive man is different? After fetching her brother to help, she loads him into a cart and back to the house. She finds as she cleans up the strangers wounds, they are starting to heal right before her eyes! She would be scared, if she didn't already know someone with this same ability...
The many faucets of this book are so exciting. A great story, start to finish.

It's Theo Thursday!

What is Theo Thursday you ask?
Well, Theo Theodoridis is a gorgeous Greek model that I absolutely love. He is what I imagine most of our Men of fantasy to look like.
My top pick is that he could be the main character from Daniel Silva's series, Gabriel Allon.

I will pay tribute by adding his link, the pictures are a MUST see.

Now if we could just get him on some of the PNR book covers...

Review: Dark Warrior Unleashed by Alexis Morgan

Dark Warrior Unleashed (The Talions, Book 1) Dark Warrior Unleashed by Alexis Morgan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thoughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to get the next one.

The story revolves around a group of "special" beings known as the Kyth. They are an ancient Nordic race able to manipulate human energy.

Ranulf Thorsen is an special type of Kyth, living for thousands of years as his kinsmen's eye-for-an-eye justice. He is a Tailon, the warriors of the Kyth. Ranulf is summonded to asist in the tracking and erasing of a rogue Kyth, one's whos activities is causing an increasing problem. The actions of this rogue is drawing unwanted attention to their race. This Kyth needs to be dealt with.
While Ranulf is responding to another fire he suspects to be set by the rogue, along the way he finds something, someone unexpected.
Her name is Kerry Logan and she is in the wrong place at the right time, when the nightclub she's at starts to go up in flames.

Like most of Alexis' books, her storyline is fast paced and exciting with a lot of steamy HOTTNESS included. I suggest that you give this series a try.
Also, you most definately want to check out her Paladin series...

All good reads.

Hello All you KMM fans! I needed to give a Shout out to Phil Gigante, the voice of the Karen Marie Moning Highlander series. Yes, those sexy MacKeltars brought to life through Audio books.

I recently started listening to Daniel Silva's Gabriel Allon series and found that our very own voice of "SEX" Phil Gigante is the man who can make even a Jewish assassin sound extremely sexy! If you are an audio book lover, then check them out!

Now, if you have read KMM Highlander series, but NOT listened to them.... NOW is a good time to Re-read the series, BUT in Audio form.
Here's are a few samples of what you've missed in your fantasizing about the Tall, dark, sexy MacKeltar men and the wickedly evil but HOT Adam Black of the Highlander series.

And here's a Funny Outake!

Book Review: Dangerous Highlander, Donna Grant

WOW! What a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait for the 2nd in the series to come out: Forbidden Highlander

The book contains all that a girl could want:

Sexy Higlanders. Check

Demons, Check

Druids & Magic, Check

Hot Hot Hot Steamy Romance, Check

Adventure and battles with said sexy Highlanders!, Check.

Really, I loved the story of the 3 MacLeod brothers.
The relationship they share and how they came to be immortal, living in the family castle still for past last 300 years is quite a journey. The McLeoad brothers have many secrets they guard and Demons they hold deep inside them. You will learn the truth of the destruction of their clan so very long ago...

A great read, Thank you Donna Grant!

Borders Bookstore doesn't have it!

I am in fact sitting in Borders Bookstore right now and they do not have Kresley Cole's new book, Pleasure of a Dark Prince
I do believe that this is a crime and great injustice!

Review: Twice as Hot, Gena Showalter

Gena Showalter has outdown herself again. I love this new addition to the Extraordinary girl series.
We are graced with the same main players of that in the first book; Playing with Fire, but some twists anf turns have been added into the mix.
In the beginning we find Belle Jamison still deeply and madly in love with our hero, stud and main guy, Rome Masters. (Isn't Rome just a kick-ass sexy name?)Anyway, she's planning a wedding to the super hunk and all that CAN go wrong does. I can't give you ANY hints, Nope... no spoilers for you all.

Okay, maybe a taste...

Rome is compromised on a mission and has something terrible happen to him.
Belle is forced to cancel the wedding plans...
And that psychic ex-wife of Rome's, Lexie, makes a play to get him back...

Okay, that's all you get!
