I’d like to introduce a new author and a wonderfully chilling mystery/thriller. Taylor is able to transport the reader into a fresh and different FBI/Serial journey of fiction. Dark elements are about and cause a thread of deep dread and tension throughout the book, leaving the reader never quite sure what direction the plot will curve ahead.
The back of the book: A sadistic killer stalks the secluded college town of Brooksfield, New Hampshire. With bodies piling up and rumors of the murders being part of sacrificial hazing rituals, the FBI plants Special Agent Steve Williams in a fraternity at Brooksfield University. His investigation takes a ninety degree turn into the bizarre when he’s introduced to Jennifer, a clairvoyant co-ed who swears the killer isn’t human.
Steve considers the plausibility of the extraordinary, the unspeakable, even the inconceivable when his notebook starts bleeding cryptic messages. Messages that indicate Jennifer is at the heart of the darkness in Brooksfield.
When she describes her latest vision, a trail of violent deaths, including his, Steve asks the million-dollar question: Is Jennifer trying to help . . . or is she actually the one responsible?
My thoughts: Deaths and disappearances seem to be increasing in this small town, with no clues and only the shredded remains of the victims found scattered deep in the nearby woods; local police are baffled.
Our heroine, Jennifer, has returned to Brooksfield to attend the University this fall and is rooming with her friend, Tracey, off campus. Tracy and her fraternity boyfriend, Bill, have decided to bring along a friend and try to set Jennifer up on a blind date. After her fiancé’s tragic death over a year ago, Jennifer still hasn’t met someone new or even worthwhile. Little do the match makers Bill and Tracy know that Jennifer isn’t blind to mystery man’s existence, in fact, she’s known Steve Williams all her life. Jennifer wonders though, what is Steve doing here now? And why is he attending Brooksfield?
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to dive into Taylor’s next novel I have waiting, Survivor Games. Please check out Dark Reckoning and look J.E. Taylor up!

In his own words:
I have been working on my body for a little under a year competitively now(about 5 years all together) and a friend told me that I had the look of a model and really gave me a push to start building a portfolio. I'm able to do fitness, urban, fashion, swimwear, etc. Anything that lets me show what I have worked hard to achieve with mybody and my look. Nudes are not really my style but underwear I could live in. I'm a lively person with a huge personality and believe in respecting other fully until they take that for granted.
I love what I do, modeling is a passion of mine, and I love helping people overcome their fitness goals for self confidence, to be more of a goal oriented person, and the drive to accomplish anything. I manage a privately owned sports supplement shop and though this place shredded sports is my home base for the start to your healthy and more confident lifestyle. Hopefully through my work/art I can help people become that much greater!

4.5 stars-the writing was really good, but a little wordy for my taste.
I had been looking at this book for a month or two, then apparently all of my Goodreads friends read it at once, because there were updates everywhere. So, after reading a few really good reviews (and one or two crappy reviews) I came to my friend Catherine's review: Her review made me want to read this book, because it is one of the only ones I saw that pointed out Gwen's change. She is a beautiful and extremely wealthy debutante, who has been jilted twice at the altar. Goodness me the scandal! But she has through it all remained London's sweetheart. Very kind, always perfect in society, never a cruel word, and always the epitome of all a lady should be.
The back of the book makes it sound a bit like Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake, and while I loved that book to death, I don't want to read the same story by a different author. But I was wrong. It's not similar at all.
The back blurb basically says that Gwen is tired of being everyone's sweetheart, so she decides to be wicked. Okay, yes and no.
Gwen is worth 3 million pounds. A freaking fortune, and yet twice, she's been jilted and both grooms were flat broke, so thinking it's her, poor Gwen feels that if she behaves even more flawlessly amongst Society, she'll find another husband. By the second jilting where the groom literally leaped over the balcony and ran off, she is done being nice. For instance, if Lady Anne (one of her bridesmaids) volunteers Gwen for knitting sweaters for orphans then Lady Anne can bloody well knit them herself. That tiny rebellion cracked me up!
And this is where I started to see Gwen growing up and becoming who she really was.
"While trying to explain this book to a friend of mine I realized how cliched and trite it sounds to explain how Gwen decided to live for herself and stop trying to be so nice after she's jilted for the second time. I realize that the good girl gone bad seems like it's been done a million times before, but that's not how this storyline came across at all. It's not a story of Gwen going bad and starting to hang out with a rake, it's a story about Gwen growing up and dealing with her issues and learning who she is as a person. Along the way she falls in love with a man who is so much more than his surface personality would suggest." (courtesy of my friend Catherine)
Keeping that in mind while watching Gwen not just become wicked (or wickedly becoming) but watching Gwen find herself was the true joy in this book. And watching Alex see Gwen for the first time, not as his friend Richard's little sister, but as a woman, and a sensual, sexual one at that, it was fabulous. I loved how he realized that he'd been in love with her since she was a teenager, and how obvious it was to him that all the times he'd encouraged Richard to speak of Gwen, it was for himself as well.
Alex both infuriated and intrigued me. I loved the scene in the library, and I loved seeing Gwen grow. Alex needed his expectations of Gwen shot down, and the way he handled it was great.
There was only one part that seemed a bit off to me.
***small spoiler ahead***
At Gwen's second wedding, Lady Anne seemed desperately in love with the groom, and it was said that she'd nursed feelings for him before, and she was super bitchy to Gwen.
So at the end when she visits Gwen to tell her why her groom had turned tail and run, it's because he's in love with a German man. I could care less that he was interested in men, I feel it was built up to look like Anne and he would get together. I was certain that Anne was there to tell Gwen that they'd gotten married. I don't mind a twist or a surprise , but it felt so random.
Other than that, it was a great book, and I cried at the last line. It was very touching. I only wish I'd seen Gwen actually get a wedding.
Wow, this was a great book! I'm not a huge fan of erotica because I always feel plot goes by the wayside for sex.
This book is not like that.
The plot is much more intricate than I'd imagined. The book is divided up into three sections, each one titled with the brother who gets the most page time. But that's what is so cool about this book: I expected to see each section being a short about each brother and his woman, and maybe we'd see a similar theme through the three sections. It was waaay cooler than that! There were no nice tidy HEAs at the end of each section. Bonnie Edwards wove six stories into an entire novel without the easy way out of making it 3 short stories. It was so well-done.
We see Marnie and Holly, cousins and bffs, who inherit an Inn and some property out near Seattle. But their old crotchety granddad threw in a twist-they had a cousin they'd never met, and wily ol' granddad added her into the inheritance too. Kylie was the result of a drunken frat party and her grandfather never forgave her mother, so she was more than surprised to see herself included in this family's drama. so all beginning with Marnie, we see them each make their way to the Inn.
Marnie owns a club and wants to sell the property to buy out her lazy partner. Holly wants to stay at least for a while, and Kylie wants to put down roots. Therein begins the true plot and all its twists and turns. Holly has a psycho ex-husband, Kylie is still unsure of her place in this family, and Marnie is a city girl with no reason to stay in the middle of the woods running an inn.
Now, don't forget, this is an erotica novel. We had a threesome with Marnie's idiot partner and two chicks from the club within the first 10 pages and let me tell you that even though I didn't like him, I was clenching my legs together it was so hot.
That wasn't even a main character!
By the time we see Holly she's in dire need of sex, and she finds the right brother! Deke and she are all over each other in minutes! And hot, hot HOT! Wow!
Meanwhile I was well into Deke's section and Marnie was still teasing poor TJ. I can't believe how long I had to wait for my favorite O'Banion brother to get some!
And Eli and Kylie were a fun couple who wanted each other and had hot, steamy, sex, but couldn't be in the same room without fighting or sniping at each other. At one point they made a deal that neither could talk to each other at all during the day, but had to be naked by dinner! *grin* I was cracking up.
In one scene, the brothers were doing their lumberjack routine, and all were shirtless, had jeans, hard hats and tool belts, and each woman just drooled over her man in a tool belt. It was great to see that incorporated into the sex play, but also having the men have no clue what got their women all hot and bothered!
Bonnie Edwards has created an incredibly intricate novel that has 6 main characters, but the viewpoint shifts are smooth and the transition from each brother's section flowed. I never once was annoyed with extraneous points of view, and Bonnie has quite the witty sense of humor. I find it hard to find witty banter in an erotica novel, and this one had it! It didn't feel forced or out of place. In fact,I'd market this book as a contemporary romance as well as erotica since it was so well-developed.

I started working out / training at 15 years old as a part of my high school football team. From the time I started until now I have loved to be either in the gym or on some field of play. I played several sports in high school including football, baseball, track, weightlifting, and the gym has helped increase my performance in every way. Ever since picking up my first set of weights I have been hooked. I love the feeling of a good workout, the release it gives you, and the results that come in time. I played college football, however due to several knee injuries I no longer able to play. I also love MMA and enjoy training in different martial arts. I’m very athletic, and as competitive as a person can get. I have learned in life the only way to achieve success is to take control of your situation and more or less grab life by the horns and make it what you want it to be.
I am new to modeling as of September 25-29th I took the trip to Sacramento, California to work with Gary and NorCalBodz, not having any experience in modeling. Gary and I sparked things off from the get go. He made me very comfortable in front of the camera and in no time we were coming out with great stuff. I must say I was surprised with how well we collaborated and just how good things looked on film. I have finally found something I have a new passion for.
